Nursery & Garden Industry South Australia – Awards of Excellence

The Nursery & Garden Industry of South Australia has annual Awards of Excellence to recognise achievements among allied, production and retail members.
The next Awards will be judged in late 2024 and presented in February 2025.

SPECIAL AWARDS

Award of Honour (presented to a member in the industry who has made a significant contribution to the industry in SA):

This prestigious award went to Peter Jong, Managing Director of Jong’s Nursery. Peter left the nursery trade in the Netherlands in 2008 and began building Jong’s Nursery in Mt Compass SA with his father Nico, which was finalised in March 2009, starting out with test batches of potted colour. The nursery evolved into specialising in crops including Phalaenopsis orchids and Hydrangeas, always focused on producing quality plants.

LIFE MEMBERSHIP OF NGISA

This is bestowed on individuals within the industry and is decided by the NGISA Board on the basis of service not only to the industry but to the association. Congratulations to David Eaton – Ball Australia, who was recognised with Life Membership for his dedication to the industry and commitment to the Nursery and Garden Industry of South Australia. David is and has always been a strong supporter of our nursery industry. He has been the NGISA President for 5 years and a Board Member for over 20.
