In addition, a new industry award was made – the NGISA Industry Recognition Award, which went to Hans and Marjan Van Schaik of BioGro

This prestigious award went to David Kirk from Brunnings Garden Products who has worked for more than 30 years in the industry, building a business that employs 16 people and winning many awards along the way for services and innovative products. Importantly David has given many years of service to the Association, as a board member and vice president.

This award went to Jon Lamb for his contribution to the promotion of good gardening through his ABC radio talkback program, his column in The Advertiser and his magazine South Australia Gardens & Outdoor Living, over many years.

Young Leader of the Year is Samantha Hall, from Greenstead Nursery. Sam (as she likes to be called) is the next generation of the Hall family coming through at Greenstead. She is a board member of NGISA and is on the organising committee of next year’s International Plant Propagators Society conference, being held in Adelaide in May next year.
